JCI NIGERIA UPDATE ON THE 2015 EDITION OF THE JCIN TOYP PROGRAMME

Jun 26th 2015

Nominations for the 2015 Ten Young Outstanding Persons (TOYP) Awards Nominations opened on the 9th day of March, 2015 and since then it has been a very interesting, eventful and learning experience.Within the stipulated time, we received several nominations, nominations were screened and 30 finalists were collated. These 30 finalists were sent to a panel of distinguished judges (it is worthy of note that for the adjudication process to be conducted with the highest degree of impartiality, the judges will only be made known to each other as well as to the nominees at the completion of the whole process). The selection process was rigorous and intense as all nominees are outstanding young people.

The judges evaluated the finalists based on three (3) general criteria:-
How well the nominee exemplifies the JCI Values.
How the nominee’s achievements may have benefited his or her community,
nation or the world.
How the nominee’s achievements or leadership may have inspired others.
This was verified and confirmed by the 2015 JCIN TOYP official audit partners (KPMG, Nigeria). The judges sent their ranking directly to KPMG,Nigeria; KPMG then (based on the order of preference of the judges in line with their rankings), gave us a report listing the twenty (20) finalists. At a Press Parley on Sunday, June 21st 2015 at the Intercontinental Hotel,Lagos where we had several media houses in attendance, the 2015 JCIN TOYP Team unveiled the 20 finalists for this year’s edition of The Outstanding Young Persons Awards.
