PARTNERSHIP WITH CISCO

Distinguish members, one of the cardinal objectives of our administration is to empower our members, most especially young graduates and collegiate through applicable Information Communication Technology (ICT) skill development towards creating new information technology jobs. CISCO has agreed to partner with JCI Nigeria in skill development, economic empowerment and creating entrepreneurs. The flagship program is called "IT Essentials". CISCO, as its Corporate Social Responsibility is empowering millions via the "CISCO ACADEMY". The Director of Business will roll out modalities for interested members in the next few days

As we join the rest of the world to celebrate 2016 May Day, I felicitate with all workers across the country for their immense contribution to the economic and national development. May 1st, International Workers' Day, commemorates the historic struggle of workers throughout the world. Let’s us not forget that our country is faced with daunting unemployment rate. In accordance with the United Nation Sustainable Development Goal 8 to promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all.We must engage with government and private sector to achieve this goal. With our partners we are organizing JCI Nigeria Job Summit which would provide opportunity for young entrepreneurs to network with leading innovators across country with the aim of enhancing job-creation.

As Maxine Hong Kingston admonished us "In a time of destruction, create something." I believe we have a great opportunity to tap into our human capital and create new jobs that would be independent of our natural resources.

Warm regards

Olatunji Oyeyemi
