Dear Active Citizens, It is with great pleasure that I felicitate with my fellow active citizens on this special occasion of the Independence Day of our great country. As we celebrate our rich history of nationhood today, we must not forget the sacrifices of our founding fathers who laid the bedrock of our country. For the sacrifice of our Heroes past not to be in vain, we must continue to commit ourselves to the noble task of nation building.  Today, we are faced with dire economic challenges and insecurity, which made majority of the populace to face hardship. In the midst of all these we must use this occasion to renew our vigour to continue to believe in the great future of our motherland –Nigeria. Though the times are hard, but hard times are best opportunity to rediscover our potential to earnest our God given potential to overcome our current challenges. One united Nigeria is possible if we set aside our differences and commit ourselves to building an egalitarian nation – bound with one purpose; we must unite to combat all our challenges if we must secure the future of the generation to come.  This calls for brotherhood, friendship and service to our great Nation.  As young people we must educate citizens on their role in the development of our country by using the JCI active citizen framework to unite all sectors of the society for the creation of peaceful communities. I commend all our Local Organisations for their commitment towards ensuring a more peaceful nation through their various sustainable projects .Your commitment to providing developmental opportunities in your community remains the best work of life.
