As part of efforts to the battle to fight cancer and commemoration of the World Cancer Day, JCI Eko, on February 4, 2016, pre-launched a Cancer Awareness Project to immortalise the late 2015 JCI Eko President, Gladstone Awoniyi.
The project pre-launch was well attended by Late Gladstone’s family members including his wife, Oluwatosin Awoniyi, and his brother, Bayo Adeosun.
Showing gratitude to JCI Eko family on behalf of the family, Bayo Adeosun in his speech expressed how happy the family was with the support JCI Eko and the whole JCIN rendered during the tragic demise of their beloved son. He also expressed his gratitude, on behalf of the entire family, for immortalising late Gladstone with such an impactful project. He pledged his support for the project and sought his inclusion in the team that will be carrying out the annual project.
Mrs Awoniyi, the wife of the late Gladstone Awoniyi, also expressed her gratitude to JCI Eko for the support given to her before and after the death of her husband. She also pledged her support for the project and was happy that JCIEko could go this far to immortalise her late husband.
Also present at the prelaunch was JCIN NVP SW District 1, Juyitan Detola, who also indicated a keen interest in the project as it will impact a lot of lives in Nigeria. She also pledged to give her 100% support for the success of the project.
