January STEWARDSHIP Report
Greetings from Obanikoro, Lagos, Nigeria.
It is indeed an honour to be the servant leader of the great Local Organization; JCI Ikeja, an organization with historical value in the beautiful city of Lagos, Nigeria, am also glad to be a part of this great journey of over three decades of existence and over 200 alumni across the globe adding value to their community and nation at large.
JCI IKEJA is known for professionalism and personal development, these we cherish and uphold, and it has distinguish us among every other Local Organizations, we are known as the pacesetters for new culture and tradition.
Our drive for the 2018 Local Organization year still remains, Much Action; Less Talk, this has propelled us to take action always.
Below are some of the actions we have taken in creating positive impact in 2018:
We had our Joint Board Meeting on the 6th of January, hosted by our Charter President with 21 members present comprising of the 2017 and 2018 Board of Directors, we had the handing-over ceremony and the 2018 Presidential Plan of Action was also discussed with the team, in attendance was the 1996 Local Organization President of JCI Ikeja; Sen Olumide Ajomale and our host; Sen Tunde ojo where both of them charged and motivated the entire board members to keep up with the good work of service.
Our first General Assembly was well attended by over 80 people including Guests and National Officers, it was a very colourful meeting.
We successfully had our Joint Officers’ Training School with four other Local Organizations in Lagos on the 20th of January 2018 (JCI Festac, JCI Lagos City, JCI Lagos Coral, and JCI Victoria Island), we ensured members attended two JCI Signature Courses (JCI Admin and JCI Impact) as well as trainings from Ayo Muritala and Kayode Ayedogbon; Creating A Sustainable & Measurable Impact and Execution Without Excuses respectively.
We were able to induct a new member at the January Business Meeting (Chioma iteghete) and hoping to meet our membership plan for the year 2018
The President and two other members of JCI Ikeja were present at the South West ACOPs in Ijebu-Ode for two days and the Local Organization Strategic Plans was presented and JCI Ikeja agreed to handle the Aerobics Session at the 2018 South West Conference, we are hoping to also have a stand at the Variety Night (Asun and Drinks)
We had a Press Conference 30 minutes before the January General Assembly and in attendance were; Guardian Newspaper, The Nation Newspaper, Daily Independent and Telegraph Newspaper, the press statement was published on Saturday 20th of January both on print and online.
We also launched our new website which is to be used as a crowd funding tool for each of our community based project i.e www.jciikeja.org
We are presently Naira Financial to JCI Nigeria and hoping to raise fund for our Dollar due before June. We are soliciting for both members and alumni to help pay dues and donations toward the dollar due will be highly appreciated so we can focus more attention on projects.
Sponsors & Donations
We have been able to communicate with all our present donors and sponsors in order to sustain our relationship and get it solidified and we are striving hard to make our project sponsorship attractive and appealing so as to increase our reach to non-members of JCI Ikeja and key our projects to fit into various private organizations’ CSR for better collaboration
In conclusion, we are looking forward to start making impact after using January to tell the story of what we intend to do, join us to make the word a better place by supporting our dreams, visit our website always to get updated information on how you can be a part of our success story.
